Tomis currently focuses most of his ALF energy on supporting ALC NYC and ALC Mosaic in an administrative and advisory capacity, and/but still loves to play with kids when the time is right. Tomis likes long walks on the beach, deep meaningful conversations, sports, and sparkling soda water.
Ryan is a facilitator at ALC NYC. He enjoys reading, sports, board games, (sometimes) cooking and (mostly) eating food. His favorite offerings include Geoguessr, Wikitrails, Philosophy club, Hip-hop lyrical analysis, and Agile Soccer Club.
Abby is a facilitator in NYC. She loves field trips, as well as the less frequent trips-to-fields.
Nancy is an ALF @ ALC Mosaic, in Charlotte, NC. She founded ALC Mosaic in 2013. She loves traveling, hiking, art projects, and her Chihuahua. Some of her favorite offerings for children are drawing, writer’s workshop, and hands-on creation projects.
Lacy is an ALF @ALC Mosaic’s program for young children, Roots of Mosaic. She loves writing, yoga, sci-fi/fantasy and being a mama. Some of her favorite offerings for children include creating natural play environments- especially anything involving mud!, taking play outside, handwork, and writer’s workshop.
Charlotte is an ALF @ ALC Mosaic, in Charlotte, NC. She loves to sing and play the guitar and all things outdoors. Some of her favorite offerings for children are ecology club, singing, drawing, walks, and Geoguessr.
Dan is an ALF @ ALC Mosaic, in Charlotte, NC. He brings all things Science to the Mosaic Community. Some of his favorite offerings for children are taking apart electronics, chess, geocaching, building websites, and codes & ciphers.
Drew is a post-geographic cyberpunk ALF who has traveled across the country to help build an ALC in Everett, WA. When he isn’t writing about ALC systems, coding the community’s website, or ALFing you’ll probably find him working with social justice groups and intentional community projects around the world.
Abe is an ALF @ the first ALC, in East Harlem, NY. He loves dancing, playing music and surprising people with his Australian accent. Some of his favorite offerings for children are drama games, self-exploratory dance, making noise in the music studio, making tangy kombucha and cooking in the kitchen.
Nina is opening an ALC on Oahu, Hawai’i. She enjoys traveling, astrology, all forms of art, surfing, star-gazing, reading, dancing, and playing with ideas. A few of her favorite offerings to children include meditation, geocaching, long walks, and sharing documentaries. Most times, she offers her friends as resource people who make their own offerings to the kids.
Bear ALF’s at Cloudhouse Agile Homeschool Group in an intentional community in Upstate New York. He likes to make things, play improvisation games, and meditate with kids.
Arthur Brock is the co-founder of Agile Learning Centers. He pioneered the ALC concept at the first ALC in Manhattan, where his son attends school. From there, he and Tomis laid the groundwork for a network of schools to build. He serves as a mentor to the ALFs in the network.
